Hello…
Allow me to introduce myself!
I’m Sarah, a 27 year old secondary Maths teacher who, quite honestly, is most of the time pretending that I have everything together. The reality is, I come home after a hard day’s work and:
- Think about all the things I have to do instead of doing them
- Have an argument with myself about whether I can get away with dry shampoo again tomorrow
- Consider an outfit that I can maybe just about pull off for the next day
- Have a wine fridge that is never empty.
I started teaching in 2016 and although I love my job, I’m not quite sure I would have pursued it if I knew how hard it is. We all moan about the admin, the deadlines, the meetings and constantly having to prove ourselves, but we all know it is worth it for the children we teach.
I started this blog in the hope of using it as a tool to get my ideas down about having more of a work/life balance in teaching, dealing with stress, and generally coping with a demanding job but still wanting to feel like a modern, powerful, independent, young woman.
So please join me on this journey, there will be a lot of different things that I will feature and I look forward to meeting some like minded people in this crazy internet world.
Sincerely,
Miss Sarah
