Maths Resources

For me, a big part of achieving a healthy work/life balance is to know where to find good resources and sharing any you have made with the teaching community. I’m a perfectionist, to my detriment, and wished I’d listened to this advice sooner. However, on the flip side I now have a bank of resources that I have made exactly how I like to suit my teaching style.

So in the interest of helping the teaching community I have compiled a list of websites and resources that I have found to be so helpful. Apologies, these are Maths specific! I really don’t know much about other subjects to offer advice on resources, but if you do and want to share please comment for others to see.

mathswatch

vle.mathswatch.co.uk – a subscription is required by your school but it is a lifeline! You can set homework and tests on it for a whole class or specific students, and there are videos for every maths topic that students can watch for revision. I find it useful to put clip numbers next to revision lists or on feedback questions that they can look at in their own time. I am also moving on to using this exclusively for homework next year to save time and money on printing.

mr carter maths

mrcartermaths.com – another website requiring a subscription, but only a small fee and Mr Carter has differentiated questions on loads of topics, complete with answers. You can print or project them on the board, as well as putting different coloured overlays on them to help students with any SEND. I often use these for feedback questions as well.

pixi maths

piximaths.co.uk – a free website packed with loads of resources! This is my go to website when I feel like I’m on the back foot a bit; Pixi has powerpoint presentations and worksheets on everything and AfL too. There are loads of revision resources too, the “Aiming for Grade” booklets are great to give students to take home.
